As of 2026, citizens of more than 100 countries can enter Angola visa-free for stays up to 30 days for business or tourism purposes. The list includes all EU member states, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, China, India, the Gulf states, Japan, South Korea, Australia, ECOWAS members, and most of Southern Africa.
Visa-free entry — practical detail
For visa-free entry you need:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months from date of entry
- A return or onward ticket
- Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation or letter of invitation)
- Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory)
- Sufficient funds for stay (rarely checked but technically required)
E-visa and visa-on-arrival
For nationals not on the visa-free list, Angola operates an e-visa system through the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME). Applications are submitted online; processing typically takes 7–10 business days. Visa-on-arrival is available at AIA for select nationalities and pre-approved business invitations.
Long-stay business permits
For business stays exceeding 30 days, foreign nationals require a business visa or, for permanent operations, a work permit and residence card. AIPEX is the single window for foreign investor permitting; standard processing for company-sponsored work permits runs 30–60 days.
Yellow fever
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all entrants. The certificate must be presented at immigration. We strongly advise getting vaccinated at least 10 days before travel.
