Lunda Norte is the centre of Angola’s diamond industry. The province hosts the Catoca mine — the world’s fourth-largest diamond producer — operated by the joint venture between ENDIAMA and Russia’s ALROSA. Several other major and emerging diamond mines are located here, including the recently developed Luaxe project.
