Angola’s consumer market is young, increasingly urban, and structurally underserved by formal retail. Modern-trade banners — Kero, Candando, Maxi — anchor the supermarket category in Luanda; FMCG is dominated by domestic champions such as Refriango (beverages) and the CCBA / Castel Group (beer), with imported brands distributed through a network of indigenous trading houses.

Imports continue to dominate categories from packaged food to personal care, creating substantial localization opportunities for foreign FMCG manufacturers willing to invest in domestic production. The cosmetics, packaged-food, and household-care categories all show double-digit growth.
